Russian Engineering Research Aims and scope

Abstract

Standard calculation of the torque transmitted by a magnetic end coupling is considered for a coupling that consists of two highly coercive permanent magnets (thickness 4.5 mm) made of samarium–cobalt alloy. The air gap between the magnets in the half-couplings is 5–20 mm. A correction factor is obtained for use in calculating the torque transmitted by a coupling based on paired thin magnets.
