Russian Engineering Research Aims and scope

Abstract

“Small” kinds of industrial businesses occupy certain positions in the economic system of the Russian Federation; however, the influence of small and medium-sized businesses on the national economic system and especially large-scale industry is behind the indicators of advanced countries. The article examines the features of the functioning of small and medium-sized enterprises in the Russian industry, specifically the prevalence of b2b operations (business-to-business) and the possibility of their adaptation to crisis phenomena in the economy based on assessment of changes in economic potential, the results of economic activity, and the effectiveness of anti-crisis measures. The authors believe that for small and medium-sized industrial enterprises of Russia overcoming economic crisis phenomena contributes to the establishment of stable economic ties in the future and achievement of competitive advantages.
