Abstract

Import substitution is a response to the complex geopolitical situation and the economic sanctions against Russia. In those conditions, it is most important to ensure that aircraft plants have manufacturing equipment capable of generating products at the level required by the market, today and in the future. This entails the rehabilitation and further development of Russia’s machine tool industry. In the present article, the manufacture of import-substituting machine tools is considered: its current state, the main barriers to development, and future prospects.
