Improvement of Steel Tools by Ultrasonic Plastic Deformation

  • Published:
Russian Engineering Research Aims and scope

Abstract

The influence of ultrasonic plastic deformation on the performance of Р6М5 and 9ХС steel tools is investigated. The initial surface hardness of the tools is 57–60 HRC. A D-optimal Hartley–Kono experiment design for four factors is employed. The four factors are the workpiece’s rotary speed, the supply, the applied force, and the ultrasound power.
