Virtual Torsional Tests of Carbon Fiber Tubes: Ansys Composite PrepPost Software

  • Published:
Russian Engineering Research Aims and scope

Abstract

The specifics of virtual tests of a spacecraft component (a hollow tube) made of carbon fiber are considered. A theoretical model is proposed for torsional tests of the tube. Virtual testing on the basis of Ansys Composite PrepPost software is described. The data from theoretical calculations, physical tests, and virtual tests are compared, and the effectiveness of virtual tests is assessed.
