Abstract
The cutting of special stainless steels for thrust bearings is studied experimentally. The steels considered are 95Х18-Ш, 110Х18-ШД, 75ХГСФ, and 40ХНЮ-ВИ. The formation of the surface roughness and the distortion of the part after machining are described. The influence of the cutting parameters on the cutting force and temperature in the machining zone is determined. Experiments are conducted to determine the roughness of the machined surface and the distortion of the samples in various cutting conditions. The results provide the basis for technological recommendations.
