Influence of High-Temperature Annealing on the Structure and Microhardness of a Multilayer Composite Based on Nitrided Steel and Fe–Cr–V Alloy

Abstract

The influence of 10-h annealing at 850°C on the microhardness and structure of a laminar composite consisting of alternating layers of high-nitrogen 08Х17Тstainless steel and Fe–20Cr–5V alloy is studied. Vanadium nitrides are deposited, primarily in oval form, as established by scanning electron microscopy and X-ray microspectral analysis. That increases the microhardness of the vanadium-bearing alloy.
