Decreasing Gear Wear by Improved Thermocyclic Treatment

  • Published:
Russian Engineering Research Aims and scope

Abstract

The thermocyclic treatment of gears may be improved if they are subjected to preliminary cyclic heating and subsequent pulsed quenching. By this means, the wear resistance of gears with small module may be increased by 30–40%.
