Tool Selection in Machining the Edges of Carbon Fiber Parts

Abstract

The surface quality at the edges of carbon fiber components is analyzed. The edges are machined by means of an abrasive wheel with a diamond coating and the end face of a Р6М5 steel end mill. A mathematical model is proposed for use in selecting the machining technology for polymer composites.
