Energy-Efficient Separation of Water–Petroleum Emulsion

  • Published:
Russian Engineering Research Aims and scope

Abstract

Systems are considered for the dehydration of petroleum so as to separate water–petroleum emulsions. In particular, the low-temperature microwave (UHF) breakdown of emulsions is discussed. In microwave treatment of emulsion, most of the energy is absorbed by the water globules with a protective coating. An experimental system for producing a turbulent liquid flux is described.
