Abstract
Laser machining has been used for some time in producing aircraft engines, in Russia and elsewhere. The introduction of new industrial processes entails extensive testing and research, and so years may pass between hatching an idea and introducing the new manufacturing process. In the present work, the repair of blades made of heat-resistant nickel alloys in gas-turbine engines by laser powder surfacing is considered. Means are developed for improving the quality of the powder and for its effective reuse.
