Abstract
An algorithm is proposed for automated assignment of Sandvik codes to Russian structural steels. The initial data employed are the steel’s specification and data from an ASKON electronic handbook (Materials and Sets for KOMPAS). The algorithm is incorporated in an integrated CAM system for the KOMPAS platform.
