Abstract
In standard fatigue tests of samples and machine parts, the fatigue limit is determined by plotting the Wöhler curve. An accelerated method is also employed. In the accelerated tests, the load is increased in steps (the Locati method). The conditional fatigue curves employed are accumulated curves parallel to the standard curves obtained on the basis of the Wöhler curve. The same inflection point of the fatigue curve in semilogarithmic coordinates is obtained in all cases.
