Abstract
A refined calculation method is proposed for a three-layer (sandwich) structure in the edge-effect zones, taking account of how motion of the load-bearing (external) layers affects the stress–strain state. Functions approximating the stress distribution in the central layer (filler) are used to determine the stress–strain state of the three-layer structure. Those functions should correspond to the actual behavior of three-layer structures.
