Wear-Based Assessment of the Life of High-Speed Taps

  • Published:
Russian Engineering Research Aims and scope

Abstract

It is of interest to assess the life of high-speed taps in machining structural-steel workpieces. A general multiparametric formula is derived for the permissible wear. By that means, the tool life may be effectively utilized, and the metal removal in regrinding may be standardized.
