Abstract
A method is proposed for calculating the load capacity of a cycloidal speed reducer with a parallel crank mechanism. The method takes account of the elastic characteristics of the components and the engagement clearance. It may also be used for cycloidal speed reducers of other types, thanks to the use of the finite-element method and modification of the corresponding system of equations. As an example, a gear with a polyamide satellite is considered.
