Control of Surface Quality in High-Speed Machining

  • Published:
Russian Engineering Research Aims and scope

Abstract

Control of the surface quality by decreasing the influence of plastic deformation on the surface roughness is proposed. Analytical formulas are presented for the plastic burring in the cutting of a number of materials. The influence of the cutting speed on the microhardness of the surface layer after high-speed machining is investigated.
