Stress state and deformability of metal in axisymmetric extension

Abstract

The stress state of metal in the plastic region is considered. The type of stress state is characterized. The remaining plasticity of a deformable metal in axisymmetric extension is estimated on the basis of a phenomenological measure of the deformability.
