Determining the logarithmic decrements in resonant tests of structures

Abstract

Methods are proposed for determining the logarithmic decrements (damping coefficients) of structural vibrations from the experimental amplitude-frequency characteristics and the imaginary and real components of the frequency characteristics of the displacements, velocities, and accelerations.
