Abstract

By computer analysis of experimental recordings of free damping vibrations in a dynamic system, the dissipative parameters of dry and viscous friction may be determined on the basis of numerical construction of the envelope using an integral Hilbert transformation. The algorithm permits digital filtration, thinning, and smoothing of the initial data and averaging of the results.
