Abstract
The influence of sharpening on the quality of hard-alloy tools used to cut composites is discussed. Deficiencies of traditional sharpening are considered, along with the sources of defects at the cut surfaces. The benefits of combined electrophysical and electrochemical diamond sharpening of cutting tools are considered.
