Theory of constrained cutting: Calculating the stress-strain state in the cutting zone

Abstract

A new description of chip formation with a developed plastic-deformation zone is proposed; the tool’s geometric parameters are taken into account. A method is proposed for calculating the stress-strain state on the basis of a rigid-plastic model, without hardening of the blank.
