Abstract

The possibility of balancing the crankshaft and shaft in the assembly of V-8 motors is considered. Formulas are derived for the mass and geometric parameters of counterweights. It is shown that, in the design of V-8 motors, the calculation of the mass and geometric parameters of the counterweights must take account of the total unbalanced mass of the crankgear by the proposed formulas. In that case, the V-8 motors are balanced. Various factors prevent balancing of the individual components.
