Abstract
The problem of how to cut the ideal rigid-plastic material has been examined on the base of theory of plasticity. The segments where (from theoretical standpoint) the intensive cold hardening should take place and the cracks can form are pointed. The correlation between the contact friction and cracks formation has been explained. The formulas describing the cutter forces are presented.
