Upsetting of pipe blank on a mandrel

Abstract

A theory of the upsetting of a pipe blank on a mandrel is developed for the first time. Formulas for the effective design of upsetting operations are presented. The high accuracy of the formulas is confirmed by comparison with experimental data.
