Abstract

Electric drives and electric motors are becoming more widely used in society and the economy. Advances in power electronics have made hybrid cars and vehicles using only electrical energy a reality—not just standard electric trains, trams, and trolleybuses, but also electric vehicles such as the Tesla-S and El Lada. Multimotor electric motors are widely used in modern vehicles using electric traction, and each requires its own control system, which increases the size that is occupied by the master inverter and controllers; consequently, the consumption of power from the power source also increases. To reduce power consumption and reduce the size of electronic control systems for the electric multimotor, new hardware and software solutions need to be developed. This paper provides an overview of promising methods of controlling an electric twin engine: five-channel and nine-key inverters. Schematics and software solutions are considered that are used in practice by means of more optimal methods to control two electric motors.
