Abstract
On the basis of the dominant short-stem gene H1, promising lines of hexaploid triticale combining the short-stem trait with a set of valuable breeding traits are obtained. It is shown that as a result of shortening plant height, it is possible not only to preserve but also to increase grain yield and quality significantly.
