Abstract—The diversification of activity at Giprokoks is discussed, including a large-scale project for the production of synthetic motor fuels (gasoline, dimethyl ether) by the gasification of coal; the conversion of solid domestic waste; the gasification of lignite for sponge-iron production; plasma technology for coal gasification; and the production of commercial hydrogen and biofuels.
