Abstract

Experience in converting the 5000-m3 blast furnace at PAO ArcelorMittal Krivoy Rog from natural-gas supply to pulverized-coal injection shows that the stability of coke quality has the primary influence on fuel consumption. This influence is greater in the case of pulverized-coal injection. That calls for particular attention to stabilizing the physicomechanical and physicochemical properties of coke.
