Abstract

A mathematical formula is derived for the electrical resistivity ρ′s of layers of conducting disperse materials as a function of the particle size d and applied pressure P

$$ \frac{{\rho '_s }} {{\rho _s }} = M + \left( {X + \frac{d} {{Y + Zd^2 }}} \right)\frac{1} {{\sqrt P }} $$

. The coefficients M, X, Y, and Z characterize each solid material; ρs is the resistivity of the solid material.
