Abstract
The thermooxidation of pitch in new distillation reactors is investigated industrially in various conditions. It is found that increasing the temperature of one-time evaporation of tar in the stage-II evaporator of the tardistillation department up to 400–405°C increases the proportion of toluene-insoluble materials by 19–21 wt %. A technology for plasticization and thermoxidation of the pitch in distillation reactors is developed. It is shown that moving the distillation reactors closer to the tar-distillation department reduces the temperature drop of the pitch and maintains the temperature in the distillation reactors at 340–370°C, thereby intensifying polycondensation and polymerization. The influence of the heat-treatment time (up to 6–7 h) on the characteristics of the pitch is determined.
