Optical properties of gyrotropic crystals in an ultrasound field. II. Natural polarizations and eigenvalues

  • Published:
Journal of Contemporary Physics (Armenian Academy of Sciences) Aims and scope

Abstract

The oblique transmission of light through a gyrotropic crystal layer being in an ultrasound field is considered. The problem is solved by the Ambartsumian layer addition method. The specific properties of the natural polariations and eigenvalues of the transfer function for the complex amplitude are considered. A change of the sign of ellipticity of natural polarizations at large values of the incidence angle is revealed.
