Abstract
We consider a communication line without dispersion compensation. A new type of a phase-modulated format is proposed, in which Gaussian pulses with a varying off-center chirp are transmitted. It is found that there is a time shift of pulses relative to each other. Numerical simulations using the 8-PSK format as an example show that this method of generating pulses at the beginning of the line leads to less signal distortion, even with relatively small chirps.
