Modeling of deposition of coke particles in the top part of soderberg anode

Abstract

The rate of free deposition of coke particles with diameters from 2 to 8 mm in a liquid modeling of a coal tar pitch was measured. It was shown that the value of that factor is proportional to the particle size and inversely proportional to the medium viscosity. Empirical equations for estimating the rate of free and hindered depositions of coke particles were suggested.
