Abstract

Carbon sorbents obtained from cannel coal of the Leninsk-Kuznetskii coal field are investigated by EPR spectroscopy. It is established that the sorption capacity of activated carbons by silver increases as the concentration of paramagnetic centers increases, and both parameters are peaked at the activation temperature of ∼900°C. As the sorption surface, the polyconjugated aromatic system with a delocalized unpaired electron is suggested.
