Degradation of the Surfaces of Melamine Formaldehyde Particles in Dusty Plasma in Neon and Krypton

  • Published:
Bulletin of the Russian Academy of Sciences: Physics Aims and scope

Abstract

A comprehensive reduction in the size of dust particles and a change in their surface morphology are established experimentally and found to depend on the period of exposure in plasma in krypton. Results of size degradation and surface modification are compared to others obtained in a lighter noble gas. It is shown that under the experimental conditions, the degradation of particles begins faster in the heavy gas.
