Transport Properties of Low-Angle Grain Boundaries in High-Temperature Superconductors under the Model of Split Dislocations of the Boundary

  • Published:
Bulletin of the Russian Academy of Sciences: Physics Aims and scope

Abstract

A model is proposed for low-angle grain boundaries of 45° dislocations in high-temperature superconductors with alternating sign components of the Burgers vectors of dislocations responsible for torsion and bending. The subsequent splitting of each dislocation of the grain boundary into partial dislocations, which leads to a decrease in the elastic energy of the boundary and an increase in the critical current density of the superconductor, is considered.
