Particle-in-Cell Modeling of Cosmic Ray Acceleration in Fast Blue Optical Transients

  • Published:
Bulletin of the Russian Academy of Sciences: Physics Aims and scope

Abstract

Results are presented from modeling the acceleration of cosmic rays by subrelativistic shock waves (with velocities of 0.3 of the speed of light) using the particle-in-cell technique. The synchrotron radio emissions of fast blue optical transient CSS161010 is calculated using the distribution functions obtained for accelerated particles. The possibility of explaining the X-ray emissions using the Compton mechanism are is demonstrated, and the parameters of the medium in CSS161010 are determined.
