Abstract
An equation is derived for the magnetic dissipation parameter of ferrimagnetic crystals as a function of a dc magnetic field and the field of anisotropy. It is shown that magnetic and elastic vibrations of infinitely low amplitude and low frequency are excited in the region of the magnetic reorientation of a manganese‒zinc spinel crystal. The vibrations exhibit giant damping in a wide range of temperatures.
