Dynamics of Multiphase Magnetic Fluid Systems in Microchannels of Different Shapes inside a Nonhomogeneous Magnetic Field

Bulletin of the Russian Academy of Sciences: Physics Aims and scope

Abstract

Results are presented from studying the dynamics of gas bubbles injected into a ferrofluid under the influence of an inhomogeneous magnetic field in microchannels of five configurations. The dependences of bubble sizes on the configuration of the magnetic field and the physical properties of the magnetic fluid are obtained. These results can be used in gas meters and dispensers in microfluidics.
