Bulletin of the Russian Academy of Sciences: Physics Aims and scope

Abstract

An investigation of the generation of terahertz radiation in a quadratically nonlinear medium by optical pulses with tilted wave fronts is performed. A system of equations describing this process is derived. Solutions of this system in the form of optical-teraherts solitons are obtained. The possible existence of a new type of solitons (dispersionless solitons) is shown.
