Impact of 1-MeV Election Beam Irradiation on the Phenology and Microflora of Potatoes

Abstract

A study is performed of the effect 1-MeV electron radiation has on the productivity and phenology of potatoes infected with the phytopathogen Rhizoctonia solani Kühn. Preplanting irradiation of seed tubers with low-energy electron radiation at a dose of 30 Gy halves the number of tubers affected by the disease, while the potato yield is reduced by 30%.
