Analysis of Results from Irradiating K-208 Glass Plates with Protons of 30 keV

  • Published:
Bulletin of the Russian Academy of Sciences: Physics Aims and scope

Abstract

Atomic force microscopy is used to study modifications of the surface morphology of K-208 glass under the action of 30 keV protons. Depending on the density of the flux and the fluence of protons, the change in the structure of the irradiated surface is determined mainly by the formation of either H2 bubbles or microcracks and channels of sodium percolation appearing on the glass surface.
