Acoustic Location Based on Triple Correlation


An investigation is performed of the possibilities and limitations of triple correlation in problems of acoustic location. It is proposed that a pseudo-noise sequence be used as a probing signal whose triple autocorrelation function is close to the delta function. The possibilities of using this signal in problems of acoustic location are demonstrated by means of numerical modeling and laboratory experiments.
