Mutual Dependence of the Properties of Mn2+ and Gd3+ Impurity Ions in Narrow-Band Semiconductor Pb1 – x y zCuxMnyGdzS: A Spectroscopic Study of Electron Paramagnetic Resonance

Abstract

EPR spectroscopy reveals a pronounced magnetoresistive effect in samples of mixed \({\text{P}}{{{\text{b}}}_{{1 - x - y - z}}}{\text{C}}{{{\text{u}}}_{x}}{\text{M}}{{{\text{n}}}_{y}}{\text{G}}{{{\text{d}}}_{z}}\) crystal (x ≈ 3 × 10−3, yz ≈ 1.5 × 10−4), along with unusual temperature dependences of the shape of the spectral lines of Gd3+ and Mn2+ paramagnetic centers. The parameters of spin Hamiltonians and the shapes of the spectral lines of the considered centers are determined.
