Abstract
Results are presented from theoretical modeling and experimental studies of transient processes in a coil capacitor (coilcap) when connecting to a source of sinusoidal voltage. It is shown that transient processes behave as in an RLC circuit with lumped parameters; i.e., resonance, beating, overvoltage, and overcurrent modes are all possible.
