Abstract
Experimental data are presented on the effect geomagnetically induced currents have on a power transformer. An analytical solution is obtained for current harmonics via nonlinear inductance under dc bias. It is shown that the nonmonotonic dependence of the harmonic amplitude on the dc value is determined by the nonlinearity of the weber–ampere characteristic of inductor.
