Abstract
Small heterogeneities in the electron density of the F layer are studied in the mid-latitude atmosphere. A comparison to predictions of the HWM07 model indicates the orientation of cross-anisotropy of heterogeneities corresponds with direction of the horizontal wind, and heterogeneities are located at different altitudes of the F layer.
