Localization of Defects in Bored Pile Physical Model Using Cross-Hole Ultrasonic Tomography

Abstract

Numerical and physical simulations of cross-hole ultrasonic tomography of bored piles were carried out to specify the data acquisition and inversion procedures. Geometrical dimensions of defects specified in the models were reconstructed. Present techniques can be applied to integrity testing of reinforced concrete structures in field.
