Zero-reading events in the muon detector of the MSU EAS array during showers with 106s-107 particles

Abstract

Events with abnormally low contents of muons having energies higher than 10 GeV in showers with 106 to 107 particles and zenith angles of arrival of less than 30° are sought using the MSU EAS array data. It is shown that the fraction of showers with zero readings by the muon detector in showers where 106 < N e < 107 is considerably lower than in showers where N e > 2 × 107.
